Concept overview

Together with the inventors, Founding Angels found start-up companies to further develop research results and later, alone or together with an industrial partner, to commercialise the technology.

Founding Angels support founding teams operationally and financially even before the actual founding of a start-up and, as a member of the founding team, continue their support in the founding and the building up of the new start-up company.

For their engagement, Founding Angels are compensated not monetarily but through an equity share of the new company, thus allowing received funds to flow into the research and development activities to ensure a rapid realisation of its goals.

The activities involved in the founding of a company are not to be underestimated. Here is not the actual founding procedure itself that is addressed, because for this, the services of tax advisors and other providers can be used.

A decisive factor for the future company and with that the challenge for the founders is, however, the necessity to set various courses, which cannot be corrected at a later stage, or only through much effort.

Without extensive experience in this area one can very easily lose the overview and make wrong decisions. As tax advisors and other service providers are not as involved in the companys establishment as the founders are, they are unable to see the whole picture and can only help with detailed questions.

Ideally, the support of experienced founders would be of advantage, as they have often had to deal with such fundamental issues.
